Scend API reference

Getting started

Introduction

Use the Scend API to run searches and research from your application. Send JSON requests over HTTPS to https://api.scend.ai. Searches run asynchronously. Poll the job status to track progress and retrieve results after completion.
  1. As an organization owner on an Enterprise plan, create a key in the API Keys tab of the Organization page.
  2. Create and start a workflow, such as an origination.
  3. Check its status every 30 to 60 seconds. Fetch results after completion.

Getting started

Authentication

Send your organization key in the x-api-key header or as a bearer token. Keys start with scend_sk_ and grant access to your organization's records. Copy the key when you create it; it is shown only once.
  • API access requires an active Enterprise plan.
  • Keys have no expiration date. Each organization can have up to 10 active keys.
  • To change scopes, create a new key and revoke the old one.
  • Keep keys on your server, out of browser and mobile code.

Each endpoint requires a scope. A key with a missing scope receives 403.

Getting started

Pagination

List endpoints return JSON arrays. Set limit to the page size (default 100, maximum 3,000) and offset to the number of records to skip. A page with fewer records than limit marks the end of the results. For incremental syncs, pass updated_after to List originations.

Getting started

Rate limits

Each key allows 300 requests per minute. Requests above this limit receive 429. The Retry-After header gives the number of seconds to wait before retrying.

Getting started

Errors

Errors use standard HTTP status codes and a JSON body with a detail field.
StatusMeaning
401The API key is missing, unknown, or revoked.
403Missing scope, inactive Enterprise plan, or insufficient credits.
404The resource does not exist or belongs to another organization.
422The request body or query parameters failed validation.
429Rate limit exceeded. Wait the number of seconds in Retry-After before retrying.
